Halal status: Mashbūh (doubtful)

An emulsifier made from sorbitol and lauric acid, listed as polysorbate 20, Tween 20 or E432. Halal authorities disagree about it: MUIS lists it as doubtful and IFANCA says to investigate it further, neither giving a reason, while SANHA lists it as halal. Until they are reconciled, it is shown as Mashbuh (doubtful).
