Sucroglycerides (E474)

Halal status: Source dependent

Sucroglycerides, listed as E474, emulsifiers made by treating natural fats with sucrose. MUIS and IFANCA mark them doubtful; MUIS names lard, tallow and palm oil as the fats. SANHA marks them doubtful and says to check the source of the fats. A vegan claim or a halal mark on the pack settles it.
