Animal Rennet
Halal status: Source dependent
Rennet taken from an animal's stomach and used to curdle milk into cheese, where the label does not say which animal. Rennet from pigs is haram (IIFA, MUIS). For permissible animals, authorities differ: SANHA and MUIS require Islamic slaughter, while IIFA's 2018 answer and IslamQA do not. The stricter view is shown. A halal mark on the pack settles it.
