Gum base status depends on its composition. IFANCA lists gum base as requiring investigation as it may contain animal-derived components such as glycerol or stearic acid from pork or non-Zabiha animals. Plant-based or synthetic gum base is Halal. Seek Halal-certified chewing gum products.
