Halal status: Source dependent

Lipase status depends on its source. Toronto Public Health explicitly lists lipase as Haram when derived from pork. IFANCA lists enzymes as requiring investigation. Lipase from microbial or fungal sources is Halal. Lipase from pork or non-Zabiha animal sources is not permissible. Always check the source.
