Alcohol-based flavourings status depends on the carrier solvent used. Toronto Public Health lists foods prepared with alcohol as Haram. IFANCA flags artificial and natural flavourings for investigation. Flavourings using alcohol as a carrier solvent are not permissible. Seek flavourings with a non-alcohol carrier.
