Venison, the meat of deer. IslamQA rules a deer lawful when shot with the name of Allah said and killed by the shot, and says one caught still alive must be slaughtered properly. IslamQA rules that the flesh of animals is prohibited unless it is known, or most likely, that it was lawfully slaughtered. A halal mark on the pack settles it.
