Collagen status depends on the source animal and slaughter method. IFANCA explicitly lists hydrolysed bovine collagen as requiring investigation. Collagen from pork is Haram. Collagen from Zabiha-slaughtered cattle or fish is permissible. Always seek Halal-certified collagen and verify the source animal.
