Tartaric acid esters of mono- and diglycerides, listed as E472d and E472e (DATEM), emulsifiers made from glycerol, fatty acids and tartaric acid. MUIS and IFANCA mark them doubtful. SANHA marks them doubtful and says to check the source of the glycerol, tartaric acid and fatty acids, and lists tartaric acid as a by-product of the wine industry or synthetic. A halal mark on the pack settles it.
